8 Tips To Win A Blog Commenting Contest

By Goran On October 14, 2009 Under Uncategorized
Maintaining and driving an amount of traffic to your blog might be difficult. Thus, most bloggers and webmasters do things to make their sites live longer where traffic considered as the blood of your site.

What do they do?
In order to make their sites alive, they do gimmicks which other bloggers or internet users would benefited. Most of them do contest which is hosted in their sites like blog commenting contest or any kind of blog contests.

The host would set valuable prizes to their winning participants to make them eager to join and active. As for bloggers, they could offer a free 1 month advertising on their site, a free review to the winning participant’s sites, free domain or any related prizes that you could help their participants in some cases.

Hosting a commenting contest is not that simple, where the host should maintain the fairness of the contest and review the comments entering to their site.

In my current situation, I am participating the monthly blog commenting contest of TechZoomIn dot com where they set a cash prize for their winning participants.

How to win a blog commenting contest?

1. Be the first commentator.
In order to be the first commentator for the future comments, you must subscribe to the blog of the commenting contest host via email to notify you that the said site has updating a new content on his blog. Most of us often opening our email account first before we other things. So, this is a good chance to be active on the said contest and get notice by other bloggers

2. Do comments consistently.
To do this, you must set a time for this commenting activity so that you will get bored of posting comments in the entire day.

3. Post a valuable comments.
Do not give comments like, “thank you or nice post” or any related phrases. It looks like very spammy that you might get disqualified on the contest. Sharing your ideas about the topic that is being shared by the author, can add credibility points where the other the contestants might visit your site and explore what you could share more to them. Visits to your site means, Traffic.

4. Comment their previous posts.
To do this, you should visit the archives of the site you want to comment. Select some of their previous contents that you think you can contribute some valuable information. Doing this, your comment counts would grow larger until you reach the top and win the contest.

5. Do more comments.
If you think that you don’t any ideas to share in the site’s archive, you can do replying other commenting contestants and share what you have in your mind. This is also a benefit for you and add more comment counts.

6. Summarize reading.
Most commenting contestants can’t win the contest because of their laziness. They are lazy on reading the content of the author’s so that you can contribute a related comments.

To do this, I do summarize reading where I often read the main point of the article and share what I can share.

7. Relate your comments to other commentators.
Sometimes, you are out of ideas to share. In order to overcome this, you can do related comments to your co-participants or have a conversation with them through comments. If you do this often, you could meet more friends in your related niche.

8. Subscribe to comments.
When someone commented on the post you also commented, an email will sent to your inbox to notify you that there is someone who contribute his/her comments.

Trough this, you can also make a reply to share your relevant information he/she may shared about.

My words.

All the tips above are my experiences where I am on the top of the commenting contest on its 1st and 2nd week. When I slow down my commenting routine for some reasons, it really affects to my commentators rank.

Those tips above might be useful to you and if you have more ideas how to win a blog commenting contest, then you should share it to us.
