Submitting sitemap to google could help your site an immediate visibility according to google engineer Matt Cutts. He said that if you submit sitemap to google, they will crawl as quick as they could.

There is only one way to submit sitemap to google but there are many ways to create or generate sitemap for your blog.

The purpose of creating sitemap is that, it could help your readers to navigate the whole content of your blog especially those content that no longer on the front page of your site. Today, I would share to you my ideas how to create or generate sitemap for your site.

Create Manually.

This process might not fast as you think that it needs more of your efforts and also time consuming especially if your site have a large number of contents. But you have no choice if you don’t want to buy sitemap generating software that could generate quality sitemap for your site.

On doing this, you create one page of link list from all the titles of your site’s content and arrange it according to its categories or alphabetically.

Use Sitemap Generating Software

Nowadays, many people create software to do things easier and faster. In our case, creating sitemap for your large site could be painful to you if you this manually. So, you have the choice if to do it easier and faster. Using software could help you doing this. There are many software on the internet and some of them are free but sometimes they suggest you to update it to pro.

XML Sitemap Submission

Generating xml file for the sitemap of your site is one of the options if you host and you have your own domain. In short, if you are using wordpress format for your blog. Upload your xml file on your server and submit the sitemap page to google. I would refer you a site that could generate xml file for the sitemap of your site. Sitemap XML Generator. If you are using WordPress Blogging Format, they have this Sitemap Generator Plugins.

Feeds Sitemap Submission

Actually, I knew this process earlier when I search how to create sitemap easier and with automatic updates. They only thing I knew about this process is that you submit your sitemap through feeds. Every time you submit a new content the feeds could do ping automatically. If you are using blogger blog platform, you can do add a code on the end of your site URL. The instructions are below.

Note: Some of the information above are already tried by me and some are not done yet because of some reasons.

1. I don’t run my blog on WordPress format.

2. I don’t have my own domain name and hosting.

3. I run my blog on blogger or blogspot.com platform.
