How to put a "Recent Comments Widget" on blogger blog?

Most new bloggers have a problem on installing their new templates, especially for bloggers who used blogger/blogspot blogs. Blogger blogs is easy to use and easy to customized especially for newbie bloggers out there. There are also many websites that offers you a free blogger blog template like, eblogtemplate.com and ourblogtemplates.com.

For some reasons there newbie bloggers wants their blogger look professional and prefer to buy a nice template. Eblogtemplate.com offers you a premium template for a reasonable price and they also guide you how to install the template in step by step video tutorial. But that’s not our main topic for this post. Today, I will teach you how to add a “Recent Comment” and “Recent Post” to your blogger blog.

Please follow the steps below:

How to put a “Recent Post” widget for blogger blog?

1. You need to burn your blog feeds to feedburner first. In case you don’t know how to burn you blog feeds, please visit here!

2. After burning your feed in feedburner.com, go to the dashboard of feed burner and click you feed title.

3. On this page, you will see your feed status. Click the “Edit Feed Details” link just below your feed title.

4. Then you will the 3 rectangle boxes. These boxes named, Feed Title, Original Feed and Feed Address. Just leave these page for you will need it later as we go on the process.

5. Open a new window or tab, and go to the dashboard of your blogger blog and click the “Layout” link of your blog.

6. Then click the “Add a Widget” link and a page will pop up.

7. Go to the pop up page and scroll down to find the + sign blue button of the “Feed” widget. Click that button.

8. On this page you will ask to put the feed url. Now go back to the feed burner page which you opened awhile ago.

9. Copy the “Original Feed” url and paste it on the pop up page that asked you the feed url. Then click continue.

10. Edit the title to “Recent Post” and you are also given some options to configure your Recent Post widget features. Then click “Save”.

How to put a Recent Comment widget for blogger blog?

The process of putting the “Recent Comments” to your blogger blog, is the same procedure as stated above. Only you need to edit the “Original Feed” url. I will put my own Original Feed url image below for your basis

1. Replace the word “posts” in your Original Feed url to “comments” (please see the image above).

Tips and Conclusions:

If you used eblogtemplates, open the html code page and find the “recent comments” and “recent posts” widgets and paste your Original url. But if you don’t how to find the code, just leave it there. Just follow the steps above. Because if you touch the code, you might encounter some html coding errors.
